About us
To respond to the today’s climate and market challenges in good time, the Vindija Group's Sustainable Business Department, together with its colleagues along the value chain, is addressing environmental, social and governance aspects of business on a daily basis. Commitment to a sustainable production and business system is a key factor in the Vindija Group's past and ongoing successful work.
Renewable energy sources are an increasingly available and indispensable alternative in industry. Therefore, on the way to decarbonising our production system, we are continuously taking the steps needed to optimise and save energy. For example, we are systematically equipping our production sites and distribution centres with solar power plants.
Together with our business partners, our portfolio development teams are further reducing the carbon footprint of our current and future products with innovative conceptual and practical solutions. Cooperation with our strategic partner and supplier Tetra Pak is particularly worth noting because we were the first in Croatia to implement plant-based packaging. Such innovative technological solutions are also complemented by carbon-neutral packaging for part of our UHT milk, plant-based beverage and juice range (certified by Carbon Trust). An exceptional breakthrough is made by one of our favourite products on the market, Cekin Gavelino, which comes in new packaging without an aluminum container. This reduces packaging waste by 66 percent and the carbon footprint by more than 50 percent.
The sustainability of business processes is primarily based on the quality of our products, which continuously set market trends. Current awards worth highlighting are the certification of products raised without the use of antibiotics in our integrated poultry production. In the dairy and meat portfolio, we have become the first domestic company with the certificate "Proven Quality Croatia".
At the core of the Vindija Group's professional and social activities, sustainable development and social responsibility systematically and transparently support our marketing in all our communication activities. As a collective under the name Vindija, we are a proud stakeholder in the local community and a national driver of positive change. The role of our marketing activities is therefore not only to promote our products to increase sales, but also to inform consumers of our initiatives and to involve the general public in creating trends of environmental responsibility and healthy consumer habits on the way to a more sustainable and safer future.
The Vindija Group puts special emphasis on cooperation with the local community. We support our fellow citizens of all generations through public institutions in the form of sponsorships and we foster knowledge transfer in workshops and project cooperation. We are also involved at the state level, where the Voluntary Agreement of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Croatia is worth noting. We joined this Agreement to fight against food waste. At the same time, the signing of the collective agreement guarantees additional benefits and rights for our employees.
Constant communication with internal and external stakeholders enables the Vindija Group to optimise the sustainable aspects of business processes, thereby strengthening its position as a market leader and ensuring the longstanding recognisable quality of Vindija's products. Together, all these initiatives form the foundation for the company's sustainable future, while contributing to global environmental efforts.
