  • Make the dough out of softened butter and other ingredients. Leave it in a cool place for 15 minutes. Drain the sour cherries and mix 2/3 of the syrup with sugar and vanilla sugar. Heat this liquid until it boils.
  • Mix the pudding powder with the rest of the syrup and yolk, and carefully pour this mixture into the boiling syrup, stirring constantly. Boil until the liquid thickens, and then add sour cherries.
  • Roll out one half of the dough and press it against the sides and bottom of a cake or quiche baking tin. Roll out the other half of the dough and cut hearts using a heart-shaped cookie cutter (the size of classic cookies). Bake in the oven at approximately 180 °C for about five minutes.
  • Take the dough out of the oven and smear it right away with the sour cherry mixture. Add sliced strawberries on top of the mixture, and cover with the cookie dough hearts.
Return to oven and bake at the same temperature for an additional 15-20 minutes or until the desired colour is reached.
