Spaghetti "con le polpettine"

Preparation   / 45 minutes
  • First mix the chicken eith chopped mortadella, bread crumbs, parsley and about a teaspoon of salt. Mix thoroughly and let rest for 5-10 minutes. 
  • From the mixture form balls of a diameter of about 2-3 cm (size of a small walnut).
  • Fry the onion in olive oil in a wide pot.
  • Pour over tomatoes and broth.
  • When the sauce boils, carefully insert all the meat balls and cook them in.
  • Spice with salt, pepper and a little oregano. Add bay leaf and simmer the sauce for about 20 minutes. If necesarry, pour water little by little (so the sauce remains thick, but does not scorch).
  • Cook spaghetti in a large pot.
Serving suggestion 
Mix the drained spaghetti with sauce and sprinkle generously with grated cheese. 

Chef's tip 
For an even richer flavor of the sauce, you can add also other herbs (such as rosemary, etc.). As well as for traditional Italian families, let this generous dish be an occasion for a joyful family reunion. And serving sweet tiramisu at the end would be just icing on the cake!

500 g  minced chicken
100 g  Rozeto mortadella
2 tablespoons  chopped parsley
2 tablespoons bread crumbs
0.5 dl olive oil
1 onion
1/2 l tomato juice
1/4 l soup
salt, pepper, oregano, bay leaf
800 g spaghetti
  grated cheese Ovidur Vindija
