Then comes my 15 minutes of fame, when I savour the little surprises mum leaves for me in my school bag every day. No doubt I could not do it if it weren't for Vindija, and my mum always says with a smile on her face: "Vindija is my best friend!"

Our gourmet team brings you valuable tips on how to pass the most important exam of every parent chef and to prepare a meal that will make the long and exhausting day at school better for their youngster. 
Preparation  / 30 minutes
  • Spread the puff pastry until it is about 0.5 cm thin and cut it into 10 cm strips
  • Finely grate the cheese and mix it with olive oil, tomato and spices.  
  • Spread the mixture along the middle of the puff pastry strips. 
  • Brush the edges of the pastry with egg wash, fold in the filling and brush the pastry with egg wash on the outside. 
  • Bake at 210 °C for about 12 - 15 minutes. 
Serving suggestion
Cut the long rolls into bite-size pieces and enjoy them while they are still warm. 

Chef’s tip
Form balls of pastry the size of walnuts and fill with a “ball” of the filling. Fry in deep oil fryer at a temperature of about 180 °C until golden brown. Place on a paper towel to absorb the excess fat and serve with 'z bregov Legend yoghurt or sour milk.

500 g puff pastry
250 g Vindija Caprodur hard cheese 
3 tbsp tomato puree 
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp herbs (basil, oregano)
1 egg
