  • For sauce, pour 3 dl of milk, sugar and vanilla sugar into a pot, put it on mild fire and make it boil. Mix pudding powder in the remaining 1 dl of milk and sip it into hot milk with constant stirring. Remove from fire as soon as it boils and starts to thicken. 
  • Mix warm milk with crumbled yeast, sugar and four spoons of flour. Put on a warm place until it starts to foam (ten minutes).  
  • Add melted butter, vanilla sugar, salt and the rest of the flour. Mix into a medium hard dough and leave it covered for about half an hour to rise.
  • Roll out the raised dough flat on a floured surface, cut in 12 - 16 squares and put a spoon of plum jam on each of them.
  • Fold each square as a bunch so that the dough covers jam and then form a dumpling. Leave on a floured surface covered for about 15 minutes to rise.
  • Fill a wide pot with hot water and put a sieve on top or tie a cotton cloth on the edge of the pot (it has to be tightly tied, like a trampoline).
  • When the water boils, put several (4-5) dumplings on the sieve or cotton cloth and cover them with domed lid. Dumplings are to be completely covered so they could be cooked in steam, and to have enough space to double in size.
Serving
Serve hot dumplings immediately, sprinkled with melted butter and poppy,
and serve vanilla sauce on the side so that each person may pour it on dumplings, if desired.

500 g smooth flour
40 g fresh yeast
50 g of sugar
3,5 dlof 'z bregov milk
a pinchof salt
50 g of butter
1 packageof vanilla sugar
 For vanilla sauce:
4 dl of 'z bregov milk
4 spoons of sugar 
vanilla sugar
20 g (half a package)of powder for vanilla puding
about 15 teaspoons of plum jam 
 For serving:
150 gof melted butter
100 gof ground poppy mixed with powdered sugar
